My Life

This buck has been our dinner (and breakfast and lunch) companion for the last week. He has not found a home on our walls as of yet. Am I the only wife in the world that has a deer head on her dining room table? Is this an odd thing? If this is a bit out of the ordinary feel free to keep your comments to yourself..... sigh

OK, I know you said to keep our comments to ourselves, but...it IS a bit strange.
You are a very sweet wife.
Also, REALLY great photo!

Not if a crafty person is workin' on something with it, the best crafts always happen on the kitchen table:)

Are you Buzzin' Katie? I thought I saw you buzzin' around The Buzz. There is a KatieR. profile over there....Is it you?! I hope so:)

Erin, I know this is strange. I was just half hopin' some other wife had a deer head on her table and would tell me about it.

Laura, this is not anything close to a craft. It's just a trophy mount aimlessly wandering around on my table. Also, the KatieR. is me but I was just checking it out. I won't really be adding another distraction. I'm not disciplined enough. Thank you for the warm welcome though. I appreciate it. :)

Garages are wonderful places for animal heads to "live". Suggest that, Mrs. Rolli.

That's hilarious! Reminds me of the episodes of me dusting stuffed foxes and fish at my last job for Boss Man. Crazy.

Hahahahah! That's a hoot! I can relate just a little...my Dad is a taxidermist. All through my childhood it was a normal occurrence to see dead owls thawing on the counter when I'd come down for breakfast in the morning, or skinned ducks hanging from a giant meat hook--suspended from our kitchen chandelier. When friends came over for supper, they were always a little nervous as to what we'd be eating.

Oh Kara Jo, thank you. I just was waiting for someone else to tell me how "normal" this looked to them. Ha,ha,ha! I would never be shocked to see a half-froze owl on the counter. I'd just move it over so I could get to the coffee pot.

Katie, Wade wants to know what you've been feeding it!

I haven't enjoyed a deer head on my table, but our dog once found one left in the woods by a hunter and proudly deposited it on my front door step. Wasn't I surprised when I opened the door!?

So, all in all I'd say it's "normal".
