Sun Dogs



Did you see them this morning? Very cool. Literally.

What's a sun dog?

Look at the photo and you'll see the sun is in the center and the sun dogs are the two "lights" on either side of the sun.

It happens because of the ice crystals in the air. I think sun dogs only occur when it's really cold. It's sort of like winter's version of a rainbow.

I think sun dogs are awesome. One time we saw them while on the bus to school and one of the high school boys in the back seats was convinced the world was going to end--that the sun had split in three pieces.

That is so funny. They do look like something out of Star Wars. If you hadn't seen them before I suppose it's easy to come up with that assumption.

I love that God is so amazing to make the sun do that on a cold winters morn. What I don't get is the name. Sun Dogs?! weird
