On This Day in History 2006 ...

Last year at this time my husband, our two kiddos and myself enjoyed an extremely gorgeous day at Stirling Castle in Stirling Scotland. Today, I'm making peanut butter toast, standing in the rain waiting for the bus and going to T-ball practice (again probably in the rain). I'm not saying which day is/was better I'm simply stating the differences in the days. I will try to enjoy my day this year as much as I enjoyed this date last year, however, I may be daydreaming a bit about castles, tulips and fish-n-chip shops.

Cheers!

Wow! What were you doing in Stirling? I've been there! Cool. On this day, two years ago, I was probably shopping in Edinburgh, getting ready to come home and get engaged to my sweetie. : )

We flew into Glasgow spent a day there w/ friends and on our way to Callander we stopped in Strirling to see the castle. I had tears in my eyes the whole time because it's so beautiful there and I was soooo thankful to be there. Matthew had a sign makers convention in Callander. Through his years of signmaking we've made some great friendships with families in Scotland so it was like going home to be with family when we were there. I was "homesick" for Scotland when we got back to the states. :(
We'll go back again, when Anna's older. She was only 10mos old at the time so the 15hrs. of traveling was stressful for me. BTW it was my first plane trip ever.

It's funny that you say that because my first ever plane trip was to Scotland, too. But it was trip 1 (of 2) to Scotland, way back in 1989. What a fun thing to have in common!

We can't wait to go back. Were you ever on Loch Katrine or did you see Ben Ledi?
