Wondering Why Wonderful White

I just have one question.... The entryway in our home has white tile. I say, excellent. This will never look dated, super. The grout in said entryway is also white.... Why, oh why was WHITE grout chosen?

Uy. You're right - not such a great choice. I feel your pain. The house I lived in right before I got married had white tile in the entryway, and OH MY GOODNESS. I've never swept so much as I did when I lived there.

Mm. SO sorry. For those who've had to live with it, that's an oversight only made once... A relatively simple fix though, I hear.

If you can't re-tile right now, is there a way to at least color the grout black somehow? I thought about it constantly, but never seriously researched how when I had a kitchen with white grout...

Same goes for our kitchen counters. The lovely folks that redid this kitchen before we got here must not have ever used a kitchen in real life. Whose bright idea was it to use that on kitchen counters of all things - grrrr.

Jessica, I hear ya. I have little, brown, snowy-mud puddles multiplying as I type.

-V-, I didn't know this was an option. If my Melaleuca brightener and toothbrush idea fail, I'll have a back-up plan.

That Girl, tile on countertops will never be my friend. I don't care what the color. How would I roll out pie crusts.... :)

Maybe let it go long enough and you will have tan or brown grout..
:)
Seriously though, I think you can stain or color the grout- Check with someone at a home store, like Menards or Home Depot~

I have a bathroom that must have been done by the same folks who did your entryway.
And we made the same mistake in our old house--white grout. Had no idea it collects dirt and never gets completely white again. I, too, have heard that you can grout over it, though. Just haven't tried.

What about a bleach stick? Have you seen those?

Sheri I've not tried the bleach pen but am going to consider that. I want to try Melaleuca's laundry brightener, heard it works, first. If not, bleach is my next course of action. Thank you one and all for the suggestions. You guys are so smart.
